The Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists (PSA) is honored to host the 17th International Symposium for Ultrasound in Regional Anesthesia and Pain (ISURA) which will be held for the very first time in Asia. This scientific meeting will be convened in conjunction with the 51st Annual Convention of the PSA.

ISURA is a major symposium dedicated to the use of ultrasound for perioperative medicine namely, Regional Anesthesia (RA), Pain and Point-of-Care-Ultrasound (POCUS). Since its inception in 2004, the meeting has been hosted by several cities globally: Schwetzingen (Germany), Toronto (Canada), Bern (Switzerland), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Bogota (Colombia), Florence (Italy) and Porto (Portugal). ISURA aspires to bring the congress to different parts of the world as the application of ultrasound in perioperative medicine continues to expand. This time, they will be spreading their wings to Manila. Dubbed as the Pearl of the Orient, this city offers a unique experience with its fusion of tradition and modernism; cradling its visitors with wholehearted hospitality.

The symposium revolves around the theme, “Paradigm Shift,” aptly representing the developments in our practice as ultrasound continuously revolutionizes our mode of patient management and techniques. We shall also showcase the most up-to-date issues in the field of other anesthesia subspecialties which will be presented in the PSA topics.
